Real Wedding: Brittany & Carter Watts

OCTOBER 18, 2025

Brittany and Carter had a clear vision for their wedding; authentic, candid, and most importantly, intimate. What’s more intimate than a soundside, private venue for family and friends to spend the entire weekend? The secluded Edgecamp properties on Hatteras Island were the perfect fit for the couple. The properties featured soundside lawns, a private pool, and plenty of space for family and friends to spend the long weekend with one another. Even the schedule itself was intentional; a cocktail hour, welcome party, and of course sunset ceremony and reception. No amount of time was wasted.

Planning a destination wedding poses its own set of unique challenges, maybe most obviously the relationship with professionals. However, upon meeting the Pullens over Zoom, Brittany and Carter knew they would be a perfect fit for their vision. “They’re incredible,” Brittany recounts. “[we] knew they would be a good fit.” Daniel Pullen brought his traditionally candid, authentic style of photography to Edgecamp for the wedding ceremony, reception, and welcome party. Brittany remembers the welcome party as one of her favorite memories and the ideal, picturesque start to the weekend. A sunset, poolside get-together where family and friends arrived for the first of many celebrations, all of which was captured by Pullen.

The couple also enlisted the expertise of Kerri Catino-Nason from the Proper Setting to help with the preparations. “Our wedding planner Kerri was the best wedding planner ever,” Brittany raved. The bride also commended the reception’s entertainment, DJ Yae and Joe the saxophonist. Live music was important to their vision, and their professionals delivered. The pair also used a content creator, Becca Fair, to capture live video and photo material to commemorate the wedding day. This modality of media creation was intentional and authentic, something that Brittany recommends to other brides so they can “really relive each little moment.”

After reflecting on the wedding weekend, Brittany carefully advises brides to “try to remember what the big picture things are for the day.” She says it’s easy to get caught up in all of the minute details, but it’s far more important to pay attention to the things that are truly important; loved ones, capturing memories, and celebrating with your spouse. She remembers advice given to her before the weekend, advice that is pertinent to every wedded couple, and that is to “Never leave each other’s side. Spend the day with each other and remember why you are getting married, because it isn’t for other people, it’s for each other.”
